i agree other important figures have died this year like merle haggard who have major influence, but prince could rip on guitar almost like jimi hendrix and it’s extremely sad that that generation is all but gone. it’s so much deeper than you know. prince meant everything to me. that i cared about the right things.

  5. I know live theater hardly EVER translates well to video - that said, here's a vid of a 10-minute play I wrote that's been put on stage here in the States and in Dubai (so far). The sound quality ain't THX-quality, but if you are looking for something different to watch:

the more the better i think. if the audience can understand the movie with short facts it's like cushion to what they have to pay for. it won't hurt the overall experience, which is what people ultimately pay for, willing the expectations can be met for 1.5 hours.

"a man confronts mistakes of his past" lost me. the rest was good. i wouldn't fill my friend in with what i quoted in the previous sentence, but i would with the other half of the logline.

  8. Wrote a script centering around a guy who makes a Faustian bargain with a creature he finds in a storage container, managed to make a little teaser for it:

  9. So...a question for anyone who wants to help. I've written a script for a short film based on a story by Stephen King (have the rights) - not horror though, more of a melancholy memory piece like "Stand By Me" - and would like to get it to someone who might want to cut their directing teeth on it. A film student with money or...? Any suggestions? What would you do?

on done deal pro. there's a guy, sfoster, who in a pretty recent thread called "is it realistic to get a free feature screenplay?" was looking for something to shoot. it's free, but i got the impression he would pay for actors. i don't have an account anymore but maybe someone on here can step up and act as a middle man, so you two can talk. i'm pretty sure his equipment setup is on the anemic side. my opinion from what i've seen of his samples. but to his credit h...

  14. my subscription is coming to an end. it usually gets cut off at my birthday (the 28th, tomorrow, that’s style for you) before it expires a month before the actual date. i don’t care. any reason i should stay around. i love when you talk, but it’s pretty quiet here without the influx at the end of the year and beginning of january. will being around you help me as a writer or should i go on, exploring the rest of the internet?

i wonder what all those ellipses were supposed to do. it was very unusual. we're the writers calling me through the pages, inviting me to read more vanilla dialogue? i had my doubts.

good find. the dialogue isn't anything special so i'm not gonna award it there, but the plot is rich and that element is tougher to bring style to so it makes up lost points.

i was born in colorado, but moved when i was one so i can’t say much about it except you drive in that third gear thing on automatic cars when you're in the mountains. i've been waiting my whole life to go back there one day, especially with recent additions to freedom lol. alas! hope you find what you want with your stearch.

nothing wrong with crater, but if i’m a director, i’m noticing empty directions that are useless in my hands. the mood is created, but if i’m director, i might seriously ignore what “the writer says happens”. the writer should create only the story, because the elements of greatness are the director’s choice only. but decent framing of the story by the writer says i.
