Really enjoyed THE OUTLAW KING on Netflix. IMHO best original I have seen on there so far.

Just looked at my profile for the first time in years and saw I only have 4 out of 5 stars

I'm sure I'm in the minority here and will probably get crucified for this, but I honestly do not get the hype for Stranger Things. It seems like the more people hype a show up all over social media the more let down I am by it when I finally get around to watching. Props to the writers for getting it going but I just was not engaged. Discuss.

Okay, I know it's a cliche old standby, but... What is the best (still) unproduced script you've ever read?
-
There's a widely accepted structural perimeter, or axiom in screenwriting that generally insists on character arc. "In what ways is your character different in the end from in the beginning?" Consider Anton Chigurh in No Country For Old Men and Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood. I see no arc in who they are as people/characters. Yes, the story itself has an arc, but how are either of these characters different in the end from the beginning? Other examples of such?

I need a logline critique - A man confronts mistakes of his past when his son goes missiong 3 hours before a nuclear bomb drops on his city... Does it make you curious?

On phone with producer regarding comedy series. He wants us to cut down on the drama, but wants "drama like stakes" in the pilot. #WTF

Informal Script Format Poll: Bold scene headings or not bold scene headings?

I don’t normally toot my own horn, but... my western script “DEATH OF A LEGEND” is the Grand Prize Winner in the StoryPros Screenwriting Competition, beating out almost 1,000 other screenplays. Tracking Board coverage from DB and JT helped me improve the script, so a very big thanks to them. I’m hoping the win will help me in my quest to find a manager.

As writers, you might like this short film that I worked on. It stars Paul Scheer, Natasha Leggero, Kristen Schaal, Ken Marino & Milo Ventimiglia.

Best feature script you've ever read that has never been produced?

How do you guys feel about getting (film) coverage? For or against it?

I often wonder what studio execs are thinking. Am I the only one who is not surprised that movies like Burnt and Our Brand is Crisis are flops?
-
After reading the reviews for Burnt, I wonder: What's worse, having your screenplay never made? Or having it turned it a terrible movie?

Why shoot film if your movie is set to premiere on HBO anyway? And at the cost of TWO shooting days...?

Having directed a few things, shooting film over taking two extra days is pure insanity to me. But honestly, I admire him standing by what he wants. The best directors do just that and it seems to be working out for him. He won the contest, got HBO to use his script instead of what they planned to shoot all along and got extra money to shoot film. His stubbornness is paying off so far.

Exquisite timing. One week before The Martian comes out, Nasa announces they've found water on Mars.

Hey, did you guys know that Effie's made 17 movies?!
-
Ben, I'm not sure he shouldn't have entered given that a) he won, he convinced them to shoot a different script and c) seems to be getting whatever he wants. As a director, he should fight as hard as possible to realize his vision, but he can't push "too far." As of now, he doesn't appear to have done that yet. No one on the project has to love the director; they just have to respect him and his vision and it appears that they do (for now).

Enjoyng seeing Project Greenlight again. Shaping up to be as memorable as "Feast" season.

True Detective season 2: ugh.

For the writers out there: How many words/pages per day do you try to write?

How much does concept art help in pitching an idea?
