  1. What happened to all the new things that were supposed to happen with this site? Is it still going under - or are changes around the corner?

Hello? Are the lights even still on? Just trying to weigh weather to pony up $$$ for another year.

A lot of the changes start rolling out in late January/February 2019. New sites for both TB and LP, new features, database and community platform, etc.

Appreciate the response - looking forward to seeing what they are.

  2. Is this site going under? Just read that the news part of TB is getting shuttered?

Hre is the thread on the IP.Board (that's the forum software TB uses) community about the chat being shutdown in April 2017.

What happens to the script library and the ability to post scripts? Anything?

  3. Anybody interested in that Scriptbook thing - I got one and talked about it on Twitter. @RobBurke_Jr

I'm a big analytics guy. But it doesn't have much place in selling to a studio/producer, IMO. They buy based on quality of scripts + IP, relationships (talent attachments), what's worked in the immediate past for them and competitors. Everything else is just noise.

Scriptnotes podcast spent a good deal talking about this lately. They certainly were not impressed.

Nice Twitter thread, Rob. Mazin's umbrage on this tool is classic. AI a long way from interpreting varying data points into meaningful insight.

  4. I know live theater hardly EVER translates well to video - that said, here's a vid of a 10-minute play I wrote that's been put on stage here in the States and in Dubai (so far). The sound quality ain't THX-quality, but if you are looking for something different to watch:

Thanks, CB. Was a personal piece . . .if that's not blatantly obvious with the ending.

  5. Been out of the country for a few weeks - where is everyone? How's the screenwriting going for y'all? Any major news to report out there?

  7. Writing a script where you have a character based on someone you know in real life (but you think you've disguised that fact)? This $3 million dollar lawsuit might change your mind: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-esq/screenwriter-sued-making-henry-james-697876

Rob B - I figured you knew, and didn't mean for it to sound directed at you. I was reacting to the article and all these articles are written the same: million dollar lawsuit because writer STOLE this idea, etc. I saw articles about the MI3 lawsuit against Cruise that suggested there was some merit to the suit. Journalism...

  15. I know - late to the party here and basically saying the same thing others have said, but -- thank you Gravity. Best movie experience of the year so far.
