Hey guys, new TB Red here to say hello. I took things over late last month, and am still getting up to speed on things and just wanted to say hello. Unfortunately, I'm also doing so with a spot of bad news - it seems IP Board, who hosts the forum has officially done away with the Chat feature. We're exploring alternatives, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up as soon as I had confirmation from them. Otherwise, I'm still getting used to everything, and looking forward to gettin...

My wife and I started a podcast about the Criterion Collection. There's a post in the Works In Progress section if you're interested.

Holding my breath until the Launch Pad announcements tomorrow...

Looks like I made the first cut for this year's Nicholl.

True Detective season 2: ugh.

Unbroken. So bloody disappointing. To me what's most compelling about Zamperini's story is his act of forgiveness. You pack that into an endnote? That should've been the story, IMO, with his POW experience in flashback or something. Feel like this movie missed the point entirely. So disappointed. And a little angry.

I found Inherent Vice extremely underwhelming.

NIGHTCRAWLER was fantastic. Gyllenhaal knocks it out of the park. Beautifully shot. Every bit as good as the screenplay. Please support this movie.

Anyone know of any examples of really good single camera comedy pilots?

Industry joke: "Dude, Paul T Anderson is doing Castlevania." "ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" I open script. "Paul WS Anderson? Oh. That's different."

What do you guys think of the Interstellar trailer? I love the little details like the not-so-pristine hypersleep chambers and the gravitational lensing around the wormhole. Also interesting seeing the small changes Nolan made to his brother's script like Murph being a girl instead of a boy.

In terms of story structure and narrative, In Bruges might be close to perfect.

What are some other movies like Locke and Buried where the character is essentially in one location for the entire film?

Need a comedy spec to read. Tired of reading sci-fi. I mean, I'm not, because I love sci-fi, but I need to read more comedies. Any to recommend?

While it's certainly not for everybody, I found myself absolutely blown away by Blue is the Warmest Color. The storytelling and dialogue felt raw and unfiltered and the actresses were both great. Highly recommend.

If anyone could piece together all the contradicting clues and figure out what happened with the missing Malaysian plane, I suspect it would be writers.

Season 2 of House Of Cards seems a bit more fragmented then the 1st season. Also burns at slower pace. Haven't figured out my thoughts on it. Though it seems season 1 may have been better.

That new Chris Carter show After over on Amazon was reallllllly hard to sit through.

Anyone seen Philomena? It's the only Best Picture nominee I haven't seen yet. Worth the price of admission?

So does anyone know why Sovereign is written in haiku? I'm really confused (and incredibly distracted when trying to read it).
