Scott Myers is a great resource for screenwriters -in case you didn't know. He is one dedicated individual. Mad respect.

  1. Happy Holidays to one and all. Just like to say this consistently stays a great resource. Thanks to all the contributors - Hit List, Black List, FYC scripts, old scripts, spec scripts, TV scripts. Just great. Thank you. Now make sure you read some of the scripts instead of just having a million of them. So much to learn. Never give up on your writing dreams. Never ever.

Thanks, Red. 20-30 mb for a single pdf is HUGE and I'd venture to say unnecessary (esp. for a file that is only text).

  5. Thanks to Johnnie for all the new scripts and the infusion of energy. Keep it up.

  6. Casting Dennis Leary in 'Draft Day' is genius.

Wow. Very cool. Olmstead is a beast on the page!

  8. David gave me access to his folder. It's going to take me a while to download them and sort this out. In the meantime, ask me if there is a script you want from 2005 to 2011 Black List and I'll see if it's there. Thanks.

If you look at their scores for certain projects, you can see that their coverage isn't really that good. Certain scripts which were widely panned are given very high ratings. And their coverage clearly doesn't amount to much considering how many scripts score about their minimum ranking and yet remain unsold. Interesting idea, shitty execution and, ultimately, a flop.

Week 14 is good but not that good. Not the best script I've read this year

My script is one of the highest reviewed scripts of the year, so that site must be horseshit.

Darn. No Anna Karenina. I've always wanted to say "of course I've read Anna Karenina" and not be lying.

Are there loglines or genres for these scripts yet?

      Looking for the loglines too.

  12. What does everyone think about Final Draft app and the Ipad? I know they just came out with the app. Seems like this is the perfect writer combination. Would the Ipad be intuitive for writing scripts? I don't have an Ipad.

bluetooth keyboard makes it easier. App isn't as robust as the desktop but I don't mind that. Glad I can copy and paste from index card app and outline fast on the iPad

Spec_Writer, what are some of the movies they have produced? Granted I haven't done any in depth research but the scripts I've skimmed have not been optioned or produced to the best of my knowledge.

They don't make studio movies; these are mostly DTV movies, MOWs or markets like family films or faith-based films. Yes, they feature B stars like Lea Thompson or Michael Madsen, but hey I'll take a movie with those names over a script in a drawer. Here's an interview with Lovely Molly screenwriter, who met Eduardo Sanchez via inktip and has built a career...http://tinyurl.com/82v6ulc
