So what suggestions do ya all have to breathe some life back into these forums?
-
If want to write network pilots, you should be reading Ashish's Runway Series every Thursday for the next 4 weeks: http://www.tracking-board.com/the-runway-your-2017-pilot-survival-guide-nbc-dramas/
-
If anyone wants to start a 2017 pilots thread in the appropriate place, I'll start posting scripts.
-
Script club chat tomorrow night to decide next week's script!
-
Do you have any recommendations of scripts where the protagonists alienates everyone? I.e. like Jack Nicholson's character in As Good as it gets?
-
Script reading club launches on Sunday. Bash is in charge of starting the conversation on I, Tonya. Please read and participate in the conversation. Let's all start reading more this new year!

Reading through the Black List Logline Game: Take a drink every time you read the words "based on a true story." See if you live til the end.

Slate threw up a hilarious article about this: http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2016/12/13/the_2016_black_list_has_a_biopic_for_everyone.html

Neil Turitz's articles on Tracking Board are genius. I love this guy, and hope he gets more exposure in 2017 for all his excellent work.
-
Hey, everyone! Is there any hope of Hit List scripts getting posted?
-
Current list of people in the reading group below. Anyone else interested?

Great article on why This is Us is doing well, Nielsen-wise http://www.vox.com/2016/11/29/13769520/this-is-us-ratings-nbc

Anyone interested in starting a script reading club? Trying to read more this coming year.

Thank you to whomever recommended Ashish Mehta's services as a script reader. I forget who recommended him a few weeks ago but he's a great asset and very affordable to boot.

I know everyone is different and everyone has their go-to coverage analyst, but I really wanted to show some love for www.scriptexaminer.com. I have used everyone from Black List to TB and several independents and Ashish coverage is THE best out there for the money. My last round of coverage resulted in 3 thorough pages of notes and I can't say it wasn't his suggestions that got my script in the shape it needed to be in to land me a manager. Just a friendly tip to those in need.

Send some good vibes to fellow TB'r Larry Lasky: He's got a spec going out! http://www.tracking-board.com/rift-spec/

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say goodbye of sorts, perhaps not forever. In a few days, I won't be renewing my TB subscription. I want to say thanks again to all the terrific members here and the happy sharing. Perhaps in a few months, I'll join back in. My Kindle is going to be hungry, I know... If anyone wants my email address, drop me a message in the next few days.

In a galaxy far, far away, I co-wrote a small straight to DVD arthouse movie called Hard Target 2. Trailer's out.

Not sure how long this will last, but Black Irish Books is allowing people to download Steven Pressfield ("War of Art")'s new book "Nobody Wants to Read Your Sh--" for free here http://shop.blackirishbooks.com/pages/nobody-wants-to-read-your-sh-t-download

The 2015 Spec Book just dropped... http://www.tracking-board.com/an-introduction-to-the-2015-spec-book/

I urge everyone to get stuck into the TB Runway pilot reviews. Andrew and Ashish are on fire. Variety and Deadline should snap them up.

Excited to have gotten the opportunity to write and direct this PSA inspired by the #AskHerMore campaign, calling on Hollywood to hire more female directors:

Just got a recommend. Many thanks to those who sent me notes upon notes.

A very long but insightful read on the newest film studio, STX Entertainment http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/01/11/the-mogul-of-the-middle
