  2. Kindle should be here Tuesday. Let's see if this cuts down on the script reading/reviewing eye strain :D

I started a discussion on this under "Chit Chat" some time ago. If all you're reading on it is screenplays, I've actually installed a different OS on the Kindle, something called Duokan.

  3. Ok guys, the forum gang and I are going to start cutting and slashing topics, and adding sections where appropriate to this forum. Before we dive in... any thoughts? Wants? Needs? Likes? Dislikes?

Maybe a section for member feedback on their own stuff? See the Hasmap one below, I was a bit surprised to find that in the regular File Exchange.

  4. Is there a good website that features details of script sales, i.e. how much they sold for? Done Deal used to do this, but - after recently re-subscribing to them - AFAIK doesn't do this any more. Does itsonthegrid do this? Or any other website? Look forward to any info.

For now I was just curious myself what, for example, an average rate for a theatrically released romcom might be. Anybody have any ballpark educated guesses?

I may be interested in itsonthegrid down the line for OWAs, but re. deal info, I suppose when the time comes my agent will be able to get his hands on info as needed. He's London-based but has some good connections in LA as well.

Interesting, and thank you very much for that info. I remember years ago Done Deal was full of that info. Would you mind explaining how that info being known directly affects the writer's future deals? Presumably the agent simply uses the client's previous deal as the "going rate" (at least that's what my agent does). Or is it more a matter of other writers saying "if this writer gets X, then I want that too"? An upwards spiral that producers would prefer to prevent?

  7. Writing Partner and I wrote a Rom-Com, need some feedback. Logline: A once happy couple on the verge of divorce find they can't split until it's decided who gets to keep the dog they both love; and they'll do anything to keep him.

Charlie Brown, I'd love to take a look, currently in the romcom headspace myself, please PM me.

  9. So my first feature Playthings recieved $20,000 funding for development of our next draft! Woooo Hooooo! not bad for my first film!

  12. Did I miss something? What happened to the file library?

  13. What would u most like to see in an Action Adventure film? Action wise... Speak!

Originality and, if it fits, a rousing battle scene or two (preferably with a twist). Avatar for all its faults had a decent battle at the end.

What did you think was better about it? Seen both, liked both, but thought most of the cuts for theatrical version were astute.

  15. What is the deal with FOX scripts? I was going to pick up that Unstoppable request but am not sure what, or if there is a new policy. I know we banned them all at CG permanently. Just for example

    1. electroglodyte

      electroglodyte

And what would the policy be to "fill" such a request with a link to another website that has it?

Cyber Hater, are there any particular sources you could recommend? Googling kicks up a LOT of false positives in the cases I've tried.

  18. Read"Four Kings of Ruin" - wow Chad st John laid a turf with this one... And he's directing it! I expected more/better from him

  19. Somehow I think the influx of new scripts we enjoyed for so long, will die off until the results of this lawsuit are known and the dust settles.

  20. Am I alone in being bored to fucking tears by The Walking Dead?

It's slow all right. I described it to a friend and mentioned how it was a little very closely inspired by other zombie ventures (e.g. the hospital opening of 28DLater), and he asked me what made it unique.

      Well, nothing.

But I still kinda like it. Slow-moving, for sure. But some good character stuff.

The ellipses (...) aren't intended for some kind of suspense effect, it's just that the comments cut off after a certain length.

      ... partial refunds.

This is all purely hypothetical, of course, and I'm going on the assumption that the gurus will have the beloved library back on track in the not too distant future.

... interests. For some (including myself), the library is/was one of the more/most important parts of the package.

I understand the difficult situation and the reasons why the gurus plan to keep the library down for the time being. I'll also take TB Red's word for it when he assures us that the gurus intend this to be temporary.

If it becomes permanent, though, then TheTypeBMBA has a point, and some adjustment to the terms and prices may be necessary, including ...
