  1. Hi everyone - I'm playing footsie with one of the Gotham Group managers and am wondering if anyone here has any experience with them or with this kind of a setup of a management/production company. I'm currently with a London-based agent who I feel isn't pulling their weight as much as they could, so I'm tempted to move. Would I still need an agent in parallel to this? What are some of the things I ought to look out for? Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.

My apologies, I realized this is better suited to the "Chit-Chat" section, so I've posted it there now.

Principal and Gotham merged last year (and officially announced in January). You'll get a lot more people under the banner now that they're doubled the size.

  2. Just wanted to draw TB members' attention to Script Frenzy: www.scriptfrenzy.org - to get the creative juices flowing.

  3. Is there a good website that features details of script sales, i.e. how much they sold for? Done Deal used to do this, but - after recently re-subscribing to them - AFAIK doesn't do this any more. Does itsonthegrid do this? Or any other website? Look forward to any info.

itsonthegrid.com is a great resource. rarely do they have dollar amounts though. they frequently link to trade articles which is helpful, as well as compile news about projects

I may be interested in itsonthegrid down the line for OWAs, but re. deal info, I suppose when the time comes my agent will be able to get his hands on info as needed. He's London-based but has some good connections in LA as well.

For now I was just curious myself what, for example, an average rate for a theatrically released romcom might be. Anybody have any ballpark educated guesses?

  4. Just posted a resource re. PJ McIlvaine's legal troubles in the Chit-Chat section.

Wow! That's a great resource (and time suck - but totally worth it if you got the time) It's interesting and an awesome bundling of info on what happened, what was said, when it was said and potential repercussions ... I just wish the writer of Deadpool would come forward and say "hey, I posted the script first..." Crazy stuff ;-p

I didn't know that about the writer of Deadpool, but if I were him, I'd be quite nervous, as him posting his own script is most likely a violation of his own contract and opens him up to being sued himself. I'm sure he feels he dodged a bullet here.

  5. I notice that the "Library" link in the top bar of the TB Forum windows (i.e. the window you're looking at now) now links straight to the File Exchange. Wonder if this means that the Library definitively won't be coming back.

No. It's been like that since last November. I don't think the two play into one another at all. I think if the library was forever planned to be gone, they'd probably had erased the "Library" tab in the first place. Though the file exchange does seem to be doing the job pretty well in the meantime.

  6. They say being in love is the period between meeting the most beautiful woman in the world and realizing she's a complete hag. I keep having the same experience with movie ideas. Euphoria, most brilliant idea ever, and then...

It's better to have had the idea, and lost it, then to... well, you know how it goes.

  8. Many thanks to TB Blue for the John Hughes screenplay extravaganza - a perfect Xmas prezzie!

  9. Thanks to everyone who provided the truly awesome Black List / Hit List collection in the File Exchange - much appreciated!

  10. Nice to see a healthy flow of scripts in the File Exchange!

  11. Ditto that - the library's gone, as are the links to library and file exchanges from menu bar on homepage. Withdrawal symptoms will soon ensue.
