I'll put it in the works in progress if you want to read it.

  4. Anyone know of a few reputable pilot script contests? Looking for something that gives good exposure.

      You'll have to wait for Austin - but they're great. Here's a list w/ feedback from Moviebytes -> http://moviebytes.com/directory.cfm

I see what you mean, but actually disagree. Felt like the end of Act 2. Final act; Walt (who has a massive ego and is pretty ruthless) completes his transformation into Heisenberg, Hank catches him. Hank was was never after Gus, Hank wants Heisenberg.

    3. Elliott79

      Elliott79

Walt can't walk away without paying the consequences of his actions.

Agreed with Elliot79. There's still much more to be wrapped up and there's no way the series will end with Walt getting away scot-free for everything he's done.

  6. Nice to see that we may get two Kaufman projects up and running. Love that guy.

  7. Just wanted to thank everyone who gave me feedback on my pilot script Interplay. I appreciate it very much and hope to return the favor.

  8. Hey thanks for the read. I think you're right about the beginning of my pilot, I need a kick to start things off, something to add a little curiosity and tension to what should be the cold open.

    All my best,

    Jeff

  9. Hey everyone, I posted a one hour pilot I've been working on in the file exchange it's called Interplay. Logline is in the post. Would love any and all feedback. PM me if you like.

  10. Looking forward to seeing Super 8 this weekend. First movie in awhile that even my wife is itching to see.

  11. Just submitted a couple of scripts to Austin

  12. Thank God NBC cancelled The Paul Reiser Show, that was some of the worst shit I've ever seen.

  13. what are the chances of The Chicago Code getting renewed? Love the show, just heard rumblings that it's underperforming in Fox's eyes.

Ditto. (My money is it takes the midseason replacement slot, but who knows with the football situation.)

It's great - I think they sexed it up big time to appease the True Blood, Fantasy, Fan Boy loving audience it's meant for. The women I spoke to who watched it said it did objectify women - but hey, it's the dark/middle ages right? ;-p

ehn. a mile wide, an inch deep. maybe i was spoiled by DEADWOOD, ROME, and the SOPRANOS or maybe it just needs time (like those shows did).

  15. Not sure if anyone has been reading the independent comic Echoes, but it would make one hell of a movie. Check it out if you haven't already. Here is the link to their website http://www.echoesthecomic.com/ and here is a link to see the first to issues free online http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/echoescomic/2011/echoes-cover/

There are 4 of the 5 issues out already, and they seriously get better each issue. I would be shocked if this doesn't become a movie someday.

Just started reading an earlier work the writer did called "Tumor". Pretty damn good so far.

  16. Jesus what a crappy film, it should have been called Live Free or Die Flaccid

  17. Has anyone read the Alcatraz pilot script? If so was it good?

  18. stupidly watched Dinner with Schmucks last night . . . so painful.

Almost as bad as "Funny People"... Beard Man killed as usual tho...

  19. Anyone else read the Locke and Key pilot? I am a huge fan of the graphic novel, and I have to say, though it was different, I still loved it. I just hope they don't screw the damn thing up.

I am not a comic book/graphic novel guy, but I thought the pilot was brilliant. Really looking forward to seeing it on-screen.

I don't get FF at all, and even I think their show is funny and has its own brand of charm. Totally deserved.

IMO: this is hands down one of the funniest shows on TV, and it has almost nothing to do with fantasy football (which is the reason i find so many people telling me they don't watch it).

    3. aphid47

      aphid47

I didn't watch the first season for the same reason, I don't know anything about FF. But my friends kept pestering me to watch, and I finally gave in. Now it is my favorite comedy show.

  22. spending the next few days cranking through a rewrite

  23. Just finished cranking out a shit draft of a feature I've been working on. Time to let it sit in a drawer until after Christmas, so I can take a fresh perspective and tear it all apart so I can build it back up.

Why shit drafts? Why not outline to perfection -- like a master criminal -- and then write a first draft that reads like a 3rd draft...? Like me :-)

    4. aphid47

      aphid47

I did outline like crazy, but a first draft has all of the shit in it that you need to clean out to make it shine. If a first draft of anything is amazing, you may be deluded.

Don't get me wrong, loved AD, but this premise was interesting for exactly 3 episodes before it became fairly to mostly lame, and I didn't care anymore.

It's slow all right. I described it to a friend and mentioned how it was a little very closely inspired by other zombie ventures (e.g. the hospital opening of 28DLater), and he asked me what made it unique.

      Well, nothing.

But I still kinda like it. Slow-moving, for sure. But some good character stuff.

HUGE fan of the comic series. TV series started great, got REALLY slow for a few episodes, and started picking up steam again the last few eps, going into Sundays finale. Also, I was very pleased to see the finale is kicking off an arc not previously in the comic series, so it's fresh for everyone!
