What a weird system to implement here, and what kind of petty asshole goes into someone's profile to give them a bad rating

      sbbn

This doesn't really seem like the type of forum that needs or should have user ratings (especially given how civil this place generally is compared to say... reddit) but eh, whatever, I guess.

I happen to be enjoying my rating quite a bit.

  2. Just got a letter from AFF that one of my scripts made 2nd round. Felt pretty good after not getting out of the first my last couple of tries.

i switched to mac, too, because i couldn't respect a windows MACHINE! i would max out the cpu and burn up the hard drive mixing up. and no background virus programs, don't go too far from thinking you need something you don't need windows ppl!

    3. StringerBell

      StringerBell

I'm one of the lucky ones. Never had a virus and very rarely have had a problem with a Windows machine in all of my years using them. Any issue I've ever had I've been able to solve by googling the problem and running a fix. Windows is intuitive to me and I simply could not understand the Mac OS. Old dog, new tricks, I guess. I did like the form factor of the Macbook Pro, but it was pretty heavy. Lots of good lightweight Windows options out now and more on their way shortly.

      I loved it.

The plot isn't supposed to make sense. You try following the leads for about fifteen minutes then just give up and go with it. It places you right in JP's head.

I was surprised to see it on Netflix, if that is indeed the same doc, as it just came out in theaters recently, right? Anyway, it's all about the Morton Downey, Jr. docu, guys, that's the shizzle. :-0

    3. aphid47

      aphid47

Yeah, same salinger on netflix that was in theaters, that ending with titles of new books seemed so convoluted it torpedoed what would have been a so so film.

    4. mister_7

      mister_7

Watched it on Netflix last night and am feeling pretty meh. While the information was excellent, the delivery was oh so breathy and over the top. Felt like it was a long episode of TMZ actually. Started playing suduko midway through, just listening instead of watching, and I think that actually improved the film.

The confession video was a huge mind fuck. Walt has Hank in such a shitty position, that he's screwed no matter what he does.

There was one shot which looked 2D, and that was the first shot of Rivendell, when they were all looking at it from a distance. It looked exactly like they were standing in front of a 2D painted backdrop. Not sure why that one shot was so bad.

    3. aphid47

      aphid47

Yes, I've been stranded on the dark side since the 60's. I haven't seen any other 3D movies, because A) I'm not really into blockbuster explosion film bullshit and B) It's a gimmick I think has been added to most films as an after thought. I wanted to experience the film as Peter Jackson intended, and it looked rubbish from beginning to end. The so called advance was a waste of time. I know I'm not the only one who saw the play x2 motion during the film. I've...

It's slow all right. I described it to a friend and mentioned how it was a little very closely inspired by other zombie ventures (e.g. the hospital opening of 28DLater), and he asked me what made it unique.

      Well, nothing.

But I still kinda like it. Slow-moving, for sure. But some good character stuff.

HUGE fan of the comic series. TV series started great, got REALLY slow for a few episodes, and started picking up steam again the last few eps, going into Sundays finale. Also, I was very pleased to see the finale is kicking off an arc not previously in the comic series, so it's fresh for everyone!

It's great - I think they sexed it up big time to appease the True Blood, Fantasy, Fan Boy loving audience it's meant for. The women I spoke to who watched it said it did objectify women - but hey, it's the dark/middle ages right? ;-p

      ... who are those guys?

With the exception of Steve Zisou and Darjeeling, I'm a huge fan. I just saw Moonrise last night and I loved it. Having said that I can understand how someone could easily tire of his style. If it doesn't work for you from the start, it ain't gonna get any better.

I always thought they should make a spoof movie called TWIST ENDING. Where like SCARY MOVIE, it incorporates other movies' plots and makes fun of them. They could have the "he's a ghost" from SIXTH SENSE, "he's imaginary" from FIGHT CLUB, "he's a she" from THE CRYING GAME, etc. And the ending is the whole movie is a dream or something.

    3. mebishop2001

It was pretty amazing actually. made my wife cry like a baby, but then again she was a dance instructor, so has an attachment to the story. I thought it built up really well, and had a great unsentimental ending. Reminded me of Rupulsion in many ways.

I see what you mean, but actually disagree. Felt like the end of Act 2. Final act; Walt (who has a massive ego and is pretty ruthless) completes his transformation into Heisenberg, Hank catches him. Hank was was never after Gus, Hank wants Heisenberg.

Couldn'tmake it past pg65. Didn't care about characters. Young Joe actually looking to bring in his older self to save himself now was dumb. The scarring, as mentioned above, was good. As well as the limb thing. But cud blu and all that stuff got annoying

I saw this earlier this week and thought the same thing in how it compares to this industry. It's not exactly the same but there are similarities. Like creating a story all on your own then having to sell all it's rights if you want to get a movie made.
