Just watched his New Girl episode the other day :( So sad. One of a kind talent.

  3. Blacklist read recommendations? Usually it's pretty easy for me to find scripts on the list that impress but this time, after quite a few false starts, I've been struggling to find anything I want to read (or, if I did read, glad that I did).

CARNIVAL. Fun revenge story set in an interesting world. Unusual (but good) dialogue.

  4. What did you think of the Force Awakens? How would you rank the movie in comparison to the other Star Wars movies?

A good movie being overrated to great when compared to the God awful prequels.

  5. I know everyone is talking about the lists at the moment, but Ash vs The Evil Dead get so many things wrong. A few things right, but so, so much wrong.

Yeah, it has its flaws but it's an Evil Dead TV show which I never thought we'd see. The world is a better place with Ash in it and hopefully it gets more seasons and improves with each.

  6. I would just like an opinion on some, or a title, for the script I've been working on since I got my coverage back 3 months ago. The reader described it as Taken meets The Departed. It was called Black Sambas. Here we go: The Supremacy Project, Project Supremacy, Deeds of Deception, When Corruption was King, Bullets of the Dishonored, Once We Were Enemie to name a few. I will upload the 1st 50 pages tomaz. Would like people's thoughts. Must have done something right for the reader to X...

Departaken? =) What's your logline? Theme? To me a great title works on multiple levels so knowing more about the story would help. Otherwise they are just titles and IMO all (minus Black Sambas) feel bland / generic. You want a title that only fits your story. Congrats on the consider!

  7. So I ended up winning best comedy feature at Austin. I'm still trying to process the whole experience, but I can't say enough good things about the festival!

  8. Looking forward to digging into the Blood List scripts!

  9. So KRAMPUS is rated PG-13... I'm thinking that had something to do with the R-rated CRIMSON PEAK failing and the PG GOOSEBUMPS doing pretty well...

I'm not a fan of PG13 (esp. for horror) but there are plenty of great PG13 movies. It comes down to story and, yeah, Goosebumps is the household name. Movies need to be what they are and hopefully find their audience. A PG13 Crimson Peak probably wouldn't work any better than an R-rated Goosebumps.

  10. After reading the reviews for Burnt, I wonder: What's worse, having your screenplay never made? Or having it turned it a terrible movie?

    1. nazardo

      nazardo

Made. Even absolute crap entertains hundreds of thousands if not millions. Even "bad" movies have fans. And don't forget a movie being made creates jobs and opportunities for others. How many big stars got their starts in shitty flicks?

  14. Besides The Office, Workaholics and Parks and Rec, what are the names of some really good/really solid workplace tv comedies, dramas. and also dramedies?

  15. God Bless Robin Williams.

One man's trash is another's treasure. One review = one opinion. It's best to cast a wide net.

  19. Thoughts on romantic comedies...good idea to write or don't waste my time?

  20. Rian Johnson to write/direct both final films in the new Star Wars trilogy. Am a fan of Johnson, but wish they used the approach of a different director for each film. Or allowed one director to do the entire trilogy. Lucasart’s approach seems so... unsymmetrical :P

It's never a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket (unless you're James Cameron).

Just saw this. Terrific filmmaking, acting, and all around goodness.. A bit too long (too much looping!) so I was exhausted / relieved when it was finally over. Not a classic but damn good sci-fi.

Every "original" idea is just a new way of looking at already existing ideas. Babies aren't just born. It takes a sperm and and egg. Time loops have been around a longggg time:
