    The lack/snub? of names and films this year is mindnumbingly confusing. I mean, The Book Thief gets one nom, original score (John Williams)? Michael B. Jordan gets nada? I guess this IS the most subjective industry.

      I am anxiously counting down the days until Jan 19. It's been good to hear it's been living up to everyone's expectations and then some (unlike the third season that just wrapped up of another once great show...)

    Really not sure how to feel about American Hustle. On one hand, I admire the theme of the story and the ambition of the storytelling; on the other hand, it feels like a hot mess and is just not as satisfying as it should be.

      I sometimes think there is a bandwagon effect going on with critics and a bit of not wanting to be the critic who disparaged the next Schindler's List or whatever.

      I always get nervous when critics get real excited about something. Either it means it's good or it's so fucking weird and/or confusing it MUST be good! It's good to hear the comments - sounds like I'll be waiting for this one to come out on Netflix.

    I really wanted to feel... *something* about what happened to Brody but the lead-up was so poor I was just kind of ambivalent. And what was with Carrie?? For the emotional wreck she's been this season she was oddly calm about everything that went down. Talking with the people responsible for Brody's outcome as though nothing happened. No attempted eye gouging or anything.
