  1. Free logline idea - THE SLIP-UP - A career criminal who fakes workers comp slip-and-fall injuries finds himself at the mercy of his new apartment complex neighbor, a 12-year-old kid who catches him faking and starts blackmailing him to keep quiet.

  2. Just want some advice here. I want to upload my script, but the ending isn't quite finished as I am re-writing at the mo. Would people be interested in reading the other 80 pages if I put if up or I would lI be wasting my time? I want to upload something before a prepare to send it for script coverage in the next week.

  3. Thanks to Raccoon for killin' it. Again.

  4. Writing a script where you have a character based on someone you know in real life (but you think you've disguised that fact)? This $3 million dollar lawsuit might change your mind: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-esq/screenwriter-sued-making-henry-james-697876

  6. Fargo was pretty darn good. Inspired casting of Thornton and Freeman and good to see Odenkirk too.

  8. Unsure if I should be really excited about the Fargo FX series or somewhat wary of it. Great cast and pedigree, so hoping for the best. Big fan of the film.

  9. I'm curious - is it as unsurprising to others that Need for Speed underperformed analyst expectations? I've been tracking it because it seemed like expectations were overblown from day 1 (it was definitely not under-marketed).

  10. Helping TB get this book out there. Please tweet, retweet, three tweet as much as you can #specbook - Ladies & Gents, we are very proud to introduce our "2013 Spec Market: Year in Review" w/ 350 pages of exclusive data http://bit.ly/NEzzOe

  11. Academy Awards or True Detective... Well, that's an easy choice. I'll find out who won the awards on twitter or something.

Nothing wrong with the Oscars - I'm as curious as anyone who will win but given the choice between watching the Oscars or a new episode of True Detective... that's an easy decision.

  12. Spent the ady yesterday at the multiplex while my truck was being worked on. 3 Days To Kill was completely forgetable, even though I enjoyed the script last year. Robocop wa a steaming turd. My passion is the craft of screenwriting. I'm a movie nut. I'm a story junkie. I'm a script hound. So why is that I can't remember the last time a film actually satisfied me... I have high hopes for Noah, even though Hollywood (Sodom and Gomorrah) looks like it's trimmed the ev...

Haven't seen 12 years but given all the praise it's received, Mr. C, what about it disappointed you?

I did see those ratios in a scientific journal study of bad:good and the study was peer reviewed, so they are infallible. INFALLIBLE! Seriously, though, that's all just opinion and personal preference. Not very useful for making conclusions that are supposed to be objective.

Respectfully disagree with this "great movies are NOW a rare thing," as though those years with the movies we consider great were void of hundreds of shitty movies (pick whatever year). You start saying things like that and you sound like an old man yelling at kids to get off his lawn.

  17. In case anyone should ever lose a script they are working on due to not backing up or the file getting corrupted, there's a gem of a software called Recuva that can help you recover it. Came in handy for me today. Had struggled for 8 hours trying to recover the script until I stumbled on Recuva. So relieved. I was damn near tears, what with the lack of proper support from the good folks at Final Draft.

  18. Have an action packed night of TV planned with new episodes of 'The Walking Dead', 'True Detective' and 'Black Sails'. That's some must watch TV!

Black Sails is fun. Story is a bit thin (at least so far) but it moves and it's entertaining. Worth the watch. I think it's better than Spartacus, which to me just played like silly cosplay porn.

  19. Any one using the blacklist to host your script refute a rating? I got a 4 along with 2 7s.
