Here's 1.2 million dollars. And let's make it pirates or mermaids to stick with the theme.

Deal. Let's right the sequel first, though.

No no no -- u write the reboot to the never existing trilogy to pan to our core audience of fan boys

  4. I've a great idea about a spatula. I think it could be the next 3D franchise. It's actually a reboot from the previously entitled "The Coffee Filter". It should only cost 200 million.

Funny... My 4 year old daughter was just playing with a spatula this morning -- completely fascinated by it. Think you've already got that quadrant covered for sure :)

See, all the demographics are covered. It's a win-win.

  5. What do you guys think has been the most original spec to hit the market in say...maybe the last 5 months? Book adaptations do not count.

Evidence and Unplugged... Okay more so Evidence but I just like the idea of unplugged. Look for the loglines in the ISO Specs section =)

I loved EVIDENCE but it wasn't exactly original. Put THE USUAL SUSPECTS and SCREAM into a blender -- voila, EVIDENCE.

  6. Is there a treatment for Peter Pan Begins? I'd really like to see why this sold.

I forgot about Hook vs. Wonderland. And what about The Neverlanders from maybe 2 or 3 months back? I've lost count.

@Bodhi... and that just reminded my ass I need to read that. Sorry.

  7. I hope there's no truth to the Kardashian being in the Gotti movie. What an embarassment to the filmmakers. I can guarantee it's the producer pushing it. The film's a joke before it starts shooting.

  8. When are we getting Indiana Jones Trilogy Blu-ray, dammit?!!

George is just editing in some new scenes and CGI work and then it will be ready, hopefully before 2012.

  9. The best news of the day has got to be that Detroit will finally be getting a Robocop statue. Philly has Rocky, Detroit has Robocop, if Los Angeles had to pick ONE statue to be an iconic representation, who would it be???

Matrix is Chicago. All the streets are Chicago names. Wachowski's are from the Windy City... but LA should get a giant statue of the Titantic with Blue Na Vi on deck and James Cameron on the bow touting "I'm king of 3D...King of 3D...!"

Riggs & Murtaugh? No. Phillip Marlowe? No. It's gotta be The Dude, people. Jeff Lebowski.

It's your basic setup exposition, as in it was needed for the most part. I don't feel like it hurt it in anyway.

Lol -- true. But I did read on (figured I'm pitching to same co. might as well see what they're digging) -- well, can anyone say "Bootleg Bram Stoker's Dracula"??? Copola did it -- and killed it, why rehash with this trash. Cliche and not even close to being better than Copola's film

  11. Finally watched Chaplin's City Lights! Why did I wait so long?? Genius!

The Walking Dead was a piece of shit. Bored me to death. I'd rather have vampires, way more interesting compared to all the zombie crap.

I dont think it's either. I believe they bought the film rights. Its an OWA.

I saw the film a few months ago. Natalie great, supporting cast funny, Ashton ruined it for me at least.

Why does this guy continue to get films? Are they hoping he'll grow on us? Why doesn't he just keep on producing reality shows and spare us his acting.

  18. Are there any drafts of the nixxed Beetle Juice sequel out there?

  19. Enjoyed the Golden Globes last night and enjoyed Ricky Gervais even more. The actors insulted need to lighten up.

His best line was about the age of the SATC ladies, that he'd seen one of them on BONANZA.

    3. Bodhi1701

      Bodhi1701

Ricky was really funny. And the actors really do need to "lighten up" as LO2L says above. We all need to be burned once in awhile to maintain our humility.

    4. liveon2legs

      liveon2legs

Actors are by nature drama queens. My favorite was when he cracked on the head of the HFPA with the helping him off the toilet joke. Ricky Gervais has something lacking in Hollywood when it comes to be surrounded by "powerful" people - and that's balls.

  20. Nice to see moviegoers rewarding quality over substance. It puts a good feeling in me. The success of True Grit is almost a reward. http://boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/?yr=2010&wknd=53&p=.htm

Dare I say, this is my favorite Coen's Brothers film???

    2. sbbn

      sbbn

I would. And I loved No Country (among other great Coen movies).

It is great to see quality filmmaking rewarded.

    3. liveon2legs

      liveon2legs

Favorite already? Coen brothers for me take a lot of time to settle with me. Still not sure how I feel about No Country. I enjoyed true grit the best, I'll say that much. Also, to see a western make some money...:D

  21. Is Black List tomorrow or...been out of the loop...haven't heard a release date yet.

Painful. Nothing more than tragic than Blake Lively who looks so out of place she might as well be making a porn movie. Total disaster.

    3. Nic.Lishko

      Nic.Lishko

Yeah, I knew it looked awful when Ryan wandered around in a green screen suit...Nothing against the CGI guys, but it's a costume for goodness sake. He doesn't even feel like a hero after watching the trailer...

    4. liveon2legs

      liveon2legs

Yeah, it looks horrible in my opinion. I'm glad Your Highness stole some of the hype, haha. Green Lantern looks on par with the Fantastic Four movies. Expect a darker re-boot by 2012.

  24. Found some cool stuff in the archives today!! It's like being in a movie time capsule

  25. Abraham Lincoln - you rock my world.
