Huge congrats, Sean! Can we read this masterpiece? A search reveals no file on T-B. :(

  2. Can anyone recommend an amazing Western script of the last 2-3 years that has thus far gone unproduced? It's fine if it sold, but looking for something unproduced. Best of the best only. Thanks.

Hater, my client Ryu Miyaki wrote a fantastic Western Thriller that won Amazon Studios' Script of the Month

$20,000 Prize. Title is "Rayfield Scott." I can put you in touch with him, PM me.

Seems like an disproportionate emphasis on action pilots and dystopian futures?

  3. Spent the ady yesterday at the multiplex while my truck was being worked on. 3 Days To Kill was completely forgetable, even though I enjoyed the script last year. Robocop wa a steaming turd. My passion is the craft of screenwriting. I'm a movie nut. I'm a story junkie. I'm a script hound. So why is that I can't remember the last time a film actually satisfied me... I have high hopes for Noah, even though Hollywood (Sodom and Gomorrah) looks like it's trimmed the ev...

I'm with "sbbn." And high hopes for Noah? Other than Aronofsky, what could possibly excite you about that movie?

  4. Really not sure how to feel about American Hustle. On one hand, I admire the theme of the story and the ambition of the storytelling; on the other hand, it feels like a hot mess and is just not as satisfying as it should be.

  6. "Seventh Son" looks like it cost $250 million based on the trailer, but it's opening in early January? Is WB dumping it because it's Legendary or is it just a turkey?

On the Pacific Rim dvd, the trailer says opening in 1.14.2014. Pushed over a year? Yikes.

I had to look up the word "iteration" to figure out he's using it wrong, which is odd because he repeats (ha!)the word about 50 times. Beyond that, his ideas are unoriginal pastiches of overused elements...and he's proud of it.

What about doctors who are forced to pull 24 to 48 hour shifts as residents? I always wondered about the purpose of that. To insure that E.R. service is even worse than it already is, with your doctor being sleep-deprived? :-0

They should do a flashforward to Todd and Lydia on their ten-year anniversary at an elegant restaurant...sitting back to back at separate tables.

The "latest activity" date says May 10 even for listings that were created in Jan, Feb or March and there's been no replies. Make sense?

Next time you sidle up to him and say, "Hey, would you like to borrow a dollar?" Then you pull out your business card with a "BAM!" sound effect and say "Dan Dollar, that is. Screenwriter." I guarantee this will work. ;-)

  17. What does everyone think about the bloodbath at NBC today?

    1. storymaps99

      storymaps99

Those sequences where he becomes the killer and "relives" the murder have a big supernatural vibe to them. And he woke up wandering on a highway in one scene, which really gave it a supernatural vibe. If that's not the case and it's just supposed to be his intuition, sorry but I think it's overproduced nonsense. Not to mention grisly because not only do we see the aftermath with the hacked bodies, but then we get to relive the murders from the POV of the killer! Yuck.

I don't get Hannibal. It's so grisly and nihilistic, just reveling in butchered bodies. I've tried to watch it 2 or 3 times and can't get past the first 10 minutes.
