    My psycho-thriller has just been optioned. It's titled: "The Cuckoo's Plight”. Jim Sheridan who directed "My Left Foot" – from which Daniel Day Lewis won an academy award - is onboard as an executive producer.

      Mike, don't assume I'm not well read. We all have our tastes, and Inherent Vice ain't mine. The book, at least. I worship PTA so I'm sure he'll come up with something good, although I'm still trying to recover from the "Disaster that is The Master." Yeesh, that was a misfire.

    If a magician entertains everyone in his audience that isn’t a magician... and said magicians say the show sucked... did it REALLY suck? Or did the magicians’ overawareness of how the tricks are done cloud their ability to sit back and enjoy the show?

      What if you applied this to visual effects? Is there any effect on film that can still BAFFLE audiences as to how it was done? Everything now can just be explained as "it's CGI." But the next breakthrough, whatever it is, will leave us slackjawed, and that includes us and visual effects artists. If anyone here remembers the animated stained glass window man from Young Sherlock Holmes, or hell, I guess the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, you know what I mean.

      Sorry, Mike, but I'm giving up for the second time on Inherent Vice. It's just...not...funny. But it's trying so hard to be. Probably is for the tie-dye generation that lived through that period, but to me it just feels really dated.

      I noticed the themes starting to develop at the end of this trailer, hinting at a great score to come. But I agree, they should have offered a bit more. Although remember in trailers for The Dark Knight and Inception you just get those big horns.

      But you're only 25, Joseph! Or is that a fib? ;-) Anyway, I know what you mean -- there's only so many big CGI action sequences one can get truly excited about these days, but at least the style looks different from other superhero films of late.
