  1. I loved Skyfall, it is without doubt up there withe my fav films of the year. It is to me, the best Craig one yet. loved Royale, but did bored at times. love Goldeneye, but Skyfall's better. Love the intro and Adele's song is a fantastiv remenisant of old Bond . Bardem's Silva is the best baddie of the last 20 yrs and his nod to Jaws is superb(maybe Christopher Lee in MWTGG). The films looks stunning. Heres hoping, just like Bond, Mendes will be back.

  3. Off to see to Skyfall today. Cannot wait! Am suprised though that it sounds so long, given I bought Tickets for 11am(British Time) and it finishes 13:50pm. But from what i've heard and read, sounds like I'm going to enjoy every minute. :)

I don't think 11am is exclusively a British time. We have it here in the States too.

I liked it. Not as much as Casino Royale, but liked it. There were a few script problems with shoehorning elements to elongate an action sequence which I didn't like. The whole film owes a lot to Christopher Nolan, there's many similarities to The Dark Knight and Inception. It looked gorgeous though.

I loved, it is without doubt up there withe my fav films of the year. It is to me, the best Craig one yet. Hated Quatum, loved Casino Royale, although I did get bored at points with so much time spent in the Casino. And I love, Goldeneye, and it's better than that. The intro is the best i can recall, Adele's song recalls the beautiful songs from the early years of Bond. Bardem's ref to Jaws is a nice touch and he's the best villian the the series i quite some time(possibly sin...

  4. Was very disappointed that Disney decided not to put Joss Whedon's commentary track on the UK Blu-ray for Avengers. Although, I did find a two disc special edition only available at Sainsbury's Superkmaket, which is exclusive to them, that has a 100 minute Featurette, with the entire second bonus disc dedicated to the featurette, including scene selection to chose if you only want to watch certain parts.

  5. really glad i didn't read the script before i watched Cabin In The Woods. what a genius and original film. Without doubt one of the best horror films in recent memory and one of my fav films of the year.

Agreed. This was one of the most fun films I'd seen in a while in theaters.

  6. So sad to hear the news of Tony Scott. so shocked by this news. My thoughts go out to Ridley and Tony's family. Rip. you will be greatly missed. thank you for the memories.

Hardly mentioned but one of my favorites that blew me away with its visual style was SPY GAME. Still can't believe he's gone. So sad.

  7. Getting a little concerned that I haven't recieved an email from TB coverage to confirm they got my script. Sent it Sunday 2am Uk time. Saturday 7pm Los Angeles time i think. Is it because it's the weekend that I may not have heard anything? has anyone else had this problem?

It takes a few days. I think it was about three days before I got my confirmation.

I did an overnight before and got the confirmation by the next day. This time, I've done the three day turnaround.

  9. being s bit dumb here, but say im using the word swat in my screenplay. do i always have to use capitals for that word when i use it?

    1. jessefoxchaney

      jessefoxchaney

assuming you're referring to a SWAT team then yes, for accuracy's sake, since SWAT is itself an acronym.

    3. ThaVillain

      ThaVillain

Yeah, depends on the script for me. The more dense the action paragraphs, the longer it takes. Usually about 2-3 hours for me.

    4. sbbn

      sbbn

It's directly proportionate to the shittiness of the script. If the script keeps me engaged I can burn through it in less than an hour. If it's an incredibly shitty script, no matter how short, it may takes weeks to never-going-to-be-finished.

  12. I think its good to hear warner bros are removing the cinema scene from gangster squad and re-refilming some thing new.

It pisses me off. That was a fucking cool scene, and we're not getting rid of all shooting scenes now are we? Push it back a few months and let it stand. I live in Denver and they're even thinking of closing down the theatre for good. When did we become such pussies?

    3. ... who are those guys?

      ... who are those guys?

I think if a movie is released right after a national tragedy, and a scene in that movie closely resembles the tragedy then it will make a lot of people uncomfortable. They're not retro-editing an old movie because of it. They're changing one scene in a movie that's going to be released a month and a half after the tragedy occurred. That scene would take a lot of people out of the movie and instead have them thinking of some psychotic asshole whose only stamp on civilization is no...

      benskelly2

I think audiences can discern the difference between 1950's gangster fiction and 2012 reality. A scene set in a movie theatre is meta proof of that difference. Anywsy, right now doesn't matter...movies are "forever" and should be thought of that way.

  13. Just watched this short(10 mins) Punisher film called Dirty Laundry, starring Thomas Jane and Ron Perlman. Its brilliant and brutally violent. I've added the link below. This is worth watching. The Punisher as he was meant to be. http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=34607

Marvel does own the rights again, and Jane wants to do it! Could be a good cheap flick to keep the name in the mix.

  14. Was so pleased to hear about the developements at Comic-Con. Ant-Man movies finally on the way, with some early awesome-sounding (test) footage. Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier. Am about the propsect on winter soldier, as i am huge fan of the graphic novel, But the possibility of Bucky being frozen for modern times is odd. Also, added this link the French Taken 2 trailer, which shows more a plot point, not totally suggest in the 1st trailer. That Kim is having to save her parents.

  15. Man, just finished reading some selected script pages from Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Walls. It has to be one of the most fucked-up scripts pieces i've read in some time. It's just brutal! And the electrical "sick stick" Mindy uses, is crazy. And some of the hero names are quite silly.

@craig, I need to check on something first before can possible sent you the page. And no, I don't have the entire script, just a few scenes where you a sense of the rivalry between a girl named Brook and her mean girl types and Mindy. Who discoveres Dave ID as Kick-Ass. And what I'm guessing is the final battle between the Superheroes and Super-villains, including Hitgirl vs Mother Russia.

There is going to be a UK website selling a Trilogy screenplay book, with storyboards (similar to the Inception one in 2010). It is also being sold as a Kindle book on Amazon.com

  20. just seen a new tv spot for dark knight rises about minute-long which shows some new footage, including catwoman there watching Batman and Bane battle it out on the catwalk in sewers. Also, nearly ready to send my re-write of my script, Bullets of the dishonored to tb coverage.

  21. Thought I'd upload this link which Sofia Vergera's son uploaded for one of his internet blogs after visiting his Mum for a BTS look at Machete Kills: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMT4eZMv2U4

  22. Been watching the brilliant 90-minute Ghost Rider 2 making of. Also watched the deleted scenes. The first one Blaze was in a church. the comes out trying to contain the rider on his knees in the street. A figure, revealed to be a priest is standing over him. and was surprised to see him being played by Noel Clarke. WTF?

  23. Thought Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter was really, really good. Not only from the action POV, but from the political POV of the character, too. Bekmambetov hasn't let me down yet. And just watched the trailer for Dread. Karl Urban looks so Bad-ass as the man himself. The look of Dread and Mega City looks very faithful to the comic. Also, you can't ignore that has a look and feel identical to this year's The Raid.

On that last part, I've actually come to understand that the shooting for started, way, way, way, before the Raid even began shooting or even its production.

The book was awesome. I've been looking forward to seeing the film. Dredd looks great.

  24. Watched the Wreck-it-Ralph trailer yesterday. Quite liked it. Was surprised though that Disney managed to secure the rights to feature characters from Street Fighter, Q-bert, Pac-man, Mortal Kombat, Sonic and Super Mario. That must've taken some talking to get Nintendo, Sega, Warner Bros, etc, to allows their characters into a Disney film!

Stoked for it as well. Looks like fun!

  25. The TB coverage has been really great for propelling the re-write of my script. A new title( The Rise and Fall of Harry Valentine has gone). The characters have more depth and one has brand new backstory essential to the plot. The pace and structure now consistant flow thanks to the scripts, etc, recommended.
