  1. What did anyone think of the Dark Knight Rises announcement trailer

Hasmap, good point, I hadn't thought of that -- his voice sounded normal, like Bruce Wayne, but they're talking about Batman and Gordon doesn't know he's Batman. So Gordon find out? And if Gordon's on a respirator and Bane has a gas mask on his face, does this mean there will be another neurotoxin released on Gotham City? I'd rather they not repeat that device as The Scarecrow used it in Batman Begins.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lazarus_Pit + The Ultimate Revenge + Creation of Bane + Bruce Wayne falling for Ms. Kyle + Bruce falling for Ra's Daughter + Ms. Kyle betraying Bruce to Ra's Al Ghul = Some pretty awesome shit ... just sayin'

The story is incredible. A friend who's working on it told me the plot -- suffice to say NO ONE will be mad at the end if this trilogy. Nolan topped himself with this... TRUST

  2. Really liked the trailer for The Amazing Spider-man. Looks to have alot more gritty realism to it and darker tone. And thinks its nice that they set-up why he ends up with his Aunt and Uncle. But have to say they spoil it at the end with the First Person perspective. looks like the've tried to mimic a combo of Mirror's Edge and Kick-Ass with total CGI.

      Two cents:

Agreed complete with the lettuce monster (Cookies is a sometimes treat) and I never ever was on board. However, I am interested to see if the story will follow his parents, as that particular arc in the comics was AWESOME.

      Still, not in. Not yet.

  3. The new Dark Knight Rises trailer - Could thst be black gate prison that Wayne is in? Wayne is also using the support of a walking cane at the start. Also didn't expect the hovercraft at the end to fit into Nolan's vision of the world. And, maybe jumping the gun here, but the"blue background" with the hooded figure on the roof of wayne manor. could it be a cameo for Robin or Nightwing. The 8 year gap would be more than enough to train a protege for Gotham(Robin) or Bludhaven(Ni...

Or take a page directly from the comics, and have Bane break Batman's back... I'm feeling like thats where we're going.

    4. mikeyP_73

      mikeyP_73

I think they should break Wayne's back and then new superheroes are born as a result. The future becomes Dystopic and then 3-5 years from now we'll have a Batman Beyond Trilogy... Bale plays an old Bruce Wayne (and young thanks to Flashbacks) who is in a wheelchair and trains a new protege to become the next Batman

  4. What did everyone think of the Sin City: A Dame to Kill for trailer? I wasn't sure about the music. The trailer itself seemed okay, but its early days, and I have have high expectations for it considering how much I loved the first one. Did Miller write the script himself or was RR involved? I know Monaghan did a draft. After the Spirit, I'd worry if It was just Miller writing.

Would people be interested in reading the other 80 pages if I put if up or I would lI be wasting my time? I want to upload something before a prepare to send it for script coverage in the next week.

Definitely wait. But if you want to gauge your writing, upload your favorite scene and provide some context. For me a scene is like a bite of a sandwich; how many bites do you need to know whether or not you'll like it?

Most of has have done this (some multiple times), and I should tell you that it always ends badly. Once you've solidified yourself as that kind of writer and the script is bad -- trust me when I say it sticks.

  6. I've just uploaded a 32 page sample of the script I'm working on called Die Today To Live Tomorrow. If you guys can have a gander and tell me your thoughts, I would be most grateful. This part of my film influenced by many things, but in particular the hospital shootout scenes from Hard Boiled and the Matrix..

Yeah, depends on the script for me. The more dense the action paragraphs, the longer it takes. Usually about 2-3 hours for me.

    4. sbbn

      sbbn

It's directly proportionate to the shittiness of the script. If the script keeps me engaged I can burn through it in less than an hour. If it's an incredibly shitty script, no matter how short, it may takes weeks to never-going-to-be-finished.

  8. is it a bad thing that my script is now currently only a 78 pages. at some point today i will be uploading the first 30 pages of my script, Bullets of the dishonored in a bid to gather you guys thoughts before i send the whole thing off for coverage.

  9. Watched Breaking Dawn last night. I thought it was slow and quite boring, sadly. And I can see why the reviews have been quite negative. It's a shame as the First was quite decent, the second was poor, Eclipse was the best(and the only that interested me was because of David Slades involvement, being a big fan of Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night. Anyone else seen it and what ya think? Hopefully part 2 will be a big improvement.

Its not i paid to watch them(expect breaking dawn) anyway as when the first two came out i was working at a cinema so i get in free. And I only watched Eclipse when it came out on Blu-ray, which by that time, i'd quit the cinema and was working in a video store. Plus there's jack crap on at the mo there i am. Seen I...

With all due respect. Sit on it for two weeks. Stop worrying about length and what's "present and correct." Read it again. Go to the bank. Take out one hundred dollars and go find the nearest homeless person you can find. Sit them down, offer them fifty bucks, they'll ask for more, ergo the hundy. Make them read it right there on the bus bench. Watch their face for significant "tells" regarding your "rising action" and the more subtle aspects of character arc....

It pisses me off. That was a fucking cool scene, and we're not getting rid of all shooting scenes now are we? Push it back a few months and let it stand. I live in Denver and they're even thinking of closing down the theatre for good. When did we become such pussies?

      ... who are those guys?

I think if a movie is released right after a national tragedy, and a scene in that movie closely resembles the tragedy then it will make a lot of people uncomfortable. They're not retro-editing an old movie because of it. They're changing one scene in a movie that's going to be released a month and a half after the tragedy occurred. That scene would take a lot of people out of the movie and instead have them thinking of some psychotic asshole whose only stamp on civilization is no...

I think audiences can discern the difference between 1950's gangster fiction and 2012 reality. A scene set in a movie theatre is meta proof of that difference. Anywsy, right now doesn't matter...movies are "forever" and should be thought of that way.

I liked it. Not as much as Casino Royale, but liked it. There were a few script problems with shoehorning elements to elongate an action sequence which I didn't like. I used to work at Blockbusters until 3 years ago. Admittedly, I never bothered to watch the Human Centipede. I did see the film on TV once. Bought the second but never bothered to watch it. One film I remember we had one copy of but were ordered very quickly to pull it from the shelf in no time, was the Serbian Film, one person we worked with watched it said don't watch, its just the sickest thing you'd ever see. I just gave them a log line with the script. That was it. The coverage (if you get the full package) will come back to you with THEIR logline (the way a reader would logline it for their boss) and the coverage, etc. They will actually do the character breakdown, etc. You just need your script and the logline.
