Got another question for my amazing TB friends. I have a screenplay that was produced just last year but still no agent or manager. I want to start sending out query letters and was wondering, do I have to use a new spec script or can I send out the script that was produced?

I'm freaking out. I know this happens all the time, but I am about 1 or 2 months away from finishing a script that has the EXACT SAME CONCEPT as another project that was announced in the trades. I am very proud of this script and feel it is the best thing I have written. But I can already hear the rebuttals, and I don't want to waste my time working on something that seems to be dead out of the gate. What would you guys do?

Does anyone know if the Writers Guild answers general questions? If one was not a member, but had a specific question, would someone get back to you?
